What to Expect
Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our relationship can go the distance. We’ve found that one of the best ways to have successful practice member relationships is to explain everything in advance. The more you understand who we are, what we do and why we do it, the better results you’ll enjoy. It’s as simple as that.
Your First Visit
Typically, your first visit will be approximately one hour. You can shorten your appointment time by filling out paperwork ahead of time, which is available here on our website. Upon first arriving at our office we will get you started with the paperwork if you haven’t completed it already. If you would like us to check into your insurance benefits, make sure you have your card with you and we'll assist in verifying insurance benefits at that time.
Examination
A trained and certified member of our staff will get your detailed history. This is so the doctor has notes on your past and present complaints. Madison Chiropractor, Dr. Anunson then will then consult with you. After he has had a chance to address any of your concerns he will proceed with the examination. At that time our exam tech will also complete a Myovision exam, which allows us to test for imbalances in your spine.
Depending on what Dr. Anunson finds during the exam, he may recommend that x-rays be taken. If so, this is most often completed the same day with minimal delay.
Following the exams Dr. Anunson will report with you his exam findings and let you know if we can help and accept your case. If after relating those findings, you’re ready to begin care, we can start care the same day. Following the doctor’s report our staff will then review financial and office policies and procedures. Given you are clear on your responsibilities with care, our exam tech then walks you through the process of getting on the table, and preparing for an adjustment.
After your adjustment, Dr. Anunson will recommend any home care instructions and our trained staff will then assist you in completing your visit with scheduling and check out.
Your Second Visit
Option 1 – If exam, report and adjustment were given on the first day.
When you arrive, you will sign in at the front desk. We will let you know when you can take a table, which is usually within five to ten minutes. One of our techs will walk you through the process of preparing for an adjustment.
After your adjustment, Dr. Anunson will recommend your next appointment and any home care instructions. Once checked out, the average time out of your day spent in our office is 10-15 minutes.
Option 2 – Consultation, Exam but no report of findings or adjustment first day.
One of our trained and certified techs will set up your x-rays in Dr. Anunson’s office for evaluation and review.
Dr. Anunson will report with you his exam findings and let you know if we can help and accept your case. If after relating those findings, you’re ready to begin care, we can start care the same day. Following the doctor’s report our staff will then review financial and office policies and procedures. Our exam tech then assists you in preparing for an adjustment.

Your Third Visit
When you arrive, you will sign in at the front desk. Within usually five to ten minutes, you'll be on a table and preparing for an adjustment.
